If you’re interested in Data Science and need a brush up on foundational knowledge, there’s a free online probability and statistics class available to Amazon Prime video subscribers.
The class includes basic concepts from Permutations and Combinations to Binomial and Poisson Distributions. I viewed a few of the courses over the weekend and the explanations are clear with plenty of examples and problem walkthroughs to help explain things.
Search Prime video for “Probability and Statistics tutor” and you’ll see several training videos by Jason Gibson. The only trouble is that there isn’t a course order indicated on Prime. I was able to get the order from Gibson’s book and have posted it below. I’ve also include links to each portion of the course.
Probability and Statistics Course Info

- Combinations
- Fundamentals of Probability (not on Prime video, but found it on YouTube)
- Addition Rules of Probability

Stay Educated!
I’m a firm believer that the best way to bring continuous value to your employer, clients, colleagues and yourself is to stay educated. So, with this post I’ve created a new category on my blog called “Education“. I will be posting helpful resources here, many of them free, that can help build knowledge on various topics. Initial topics include Data Science, Technology, and Leadership. If you see any free educational resources and want to share them with me, I’d be happy to post appropriate items here and give you a shout out for your contribution!
I hope you enjoy Jason Gibson’s online statistics and probability class. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know in the comments section below or on LinkedIn.
